Wheelwash UK secure the contract to supply 5 Ecowash systems to Tata Steel, India

Following a rigourous tender process, Wheelwash won the contract to deliver 5 Ecowash systems to Tata Steel, India. To secure the contract two site visits were required by MD Ian Jolly and Export Manager, Christina Duarte,  to discuss the project in great detail and provide the optimum solution for Tata’s requirements. Wheelwash faced fierce competition from its global competitors throughout this complex process which included liaising with  Environmental, Projects and Technical divisions of Tata.

Unwavering professionalism, contribution from key personel at Wheelwash and 25 years experience in wheel washing secured the contract. Two engineers, Frederick Bentley and Jan Grzywna travelled to India and  commissioned the 5 systems.  On returning to the UK recently, Mr Bentley commented, "Wheelwash are known  on-site at Tata Steel as, ‘the premium wheel wash suppliers’. It was an incredible experience at Tata Steel and we even witnessed the Tata staff performing a ‘Coconut Blessing’ for the first wheel wash systems in India."

Tata Steel is an Indian multinational steel-making company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and a subsidiary of the Tata Group. It is the 11th largest steel producing company in the world and the second largest steel company in India.

Wheelwash installed the 4m wash platforms/pumps and controls, whilst the customer built civil tanks totalling  approx. 140.000 litres. The systems were required due to new stringent environmental on-site requirements.

Last year saw Wheelwash secure the accolade of ‘Exporter of the Year’ and this incredible contract win in India only goes to strengthen their place in the market and shows their continuing dedication to providing the best system for all industries, globally.
